“Hi, my name is David Andujo and I am a sixth grade student. I would like to share with you the problem related to the imminent extinction of the smallest cetacean in the world (Vaquita):

  1. According to a recent research from November 2021, there are only around 8 Vaquitas left in the Northern area of the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. https://iucn-csg.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Survey-report-for-Vaquita-research-2021-final.pdf
  2. Currently the ilegal fishermen still placing nets to catch Totoaba fishes in the area where these 8 Vaquitas are living. Here is a letter from the researchers to the Government asking for help. https://iucn-csg.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/2021-08-15-Carta-JPR-vaquita-1.pdf
